Duke's Kellie Catanach Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Kellie Catanach, a freshman setter from Tampa, Fla., was selected today as the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Blue Devils to consecutive conference wins against Virginia Tech and Virginia.
Catanach was impressive in Duke’s weekend wins as she posted back-to-back double-double performances. On Friday in the Blue Devil’s 3-2 win over Virginia Tech, Catanach scored 53 assists to go along with 13 digs and three blocks. She was also 5-for-14 on attacks with only one error. On Saturday against Virginia, the Duke freshman scored 43 blocks, the second highest three-set total this season. She also found 13 digs and had a block to go with two kills to put Duke into a tie for first place in the conference with rival North Carolina.
Duke will play its final regular season contest on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at home against Wake Forest at 7 p.m. Tuesday’s match will be available on ACC Select.
