Florida State's Mira Djuric Selected as ACC Volleyball Player of the Week
Sept. 18, 2007 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State's Mira Djuric has been chosen as the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for her play in the Seminole's conference opener against Miami on Saturday. Djuric, a junior outside hitter from Belgrade, Serbia, posted big numbers over the weekend, leading the Seminoles to a 3-0 victory over their in-state conference rival. In the three games, Djuric posted a .391 hitting percentage, racking up 4.33 kills per game and 13 overall. The junior added five assists, five service aces, and five digs, helping to guide her team to its first ACC win of the season. Nine matches into the 2007 volleyball season, Djuric leads the Seminoles in kills per game (3.44), total kills (11), service aces (25) and points (147). With an average of 0.75 aces per game, she currently places third in the ACC.
This Thursday, the Florida State volleyball squad will play its first conference road game, taking on Virginia in Charlottesville before heading over to Blacksburg, Va., on Friday to play the Hokies of Virginia Tech.
