Florida State's Brianna Barry and Wake Forest's Kelsey Jones Named ACC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week
Sept. 15, 2008 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State's Brianna Barry, a junior middle blocker from Winter Springs, Fla., and Wake Forest's Kelsey Jones, a sophomore setter from Ada, Mich., were chosen today as the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Co-Players of the Week after exemplary performances last week. Barry led the Seminoles to a 3-1 record on the week, including an undefeated 3-0 run at the Raider Challenge. She hit at a .467 clip for the week, including two matches with double-digit kills. Against Wright State, Barry was 19-for-32 with no errors. Overall, Barry accounted for 46 kills, 3.83 per set, and 11 blocks to earn Raider Challenge MVP honors. Jones buoyed Wake Forest to a 3-0 record at home in the Black and Gold Challenge. She tallied 127 total assists, 11.55 per set, 24 digs and five blocks in to garner the honor. For her efforts, Jones was named MVP of the Black and Gold Challenge.
Florida State will open conference play this weekend, traveling on Friday to face arch rival Miami on the road. Wake Forest will travel west to the Appalachian Invitational in Boone, N.C. to face Appalachian State, Charlotte and North Carolina A&T.
