TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State sophomore libero Summer Weissing (Boca Raton, Fla./Olympic Heights HS) was selected as Volleyball Magazine's "Player of the Month" for October, according to the media outlet's publisher, Mike Miazga. Seen by over 150,000 people per month, Volleyball is the only monthly national magazine committed to covering all aspects of the sport from the ever-expanding juniors scene, to the college game and the beach scene. The magazine can be picked up on newsstands now.

Weissing, who led the United States on defense at the U20 World Championships in Ankara, Turkey, last month, will also be featured in a two-page spread for Volleyball Magazine in the November issue. Considered one of the nation's top liberos, Weissing and the Seminoles open the 2005 campaign against Mercer on Sept. 2 at 12:30 p.m.
