Amy Cochran, a rising senior on the NC State volleyball team, submitted answers to GoPack.com recently on a variety of subjects, most having nothing to do with volleyball. The English major from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., saw action in 32 games of 20 matches last season. She was a Dean's List student both semesters and named an NC State Scholar-Athlete. Cochran was also named to the 2004-05 ACC Academic Honor Roll and was selected to NC State's Top 10 Scholar Athlete List with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

GoPack: What is your nickname on the team?
AC: Gogs (short for goggles).

GoPack: What has been your favorite class at NC State?
AC: 3-way tie between Dr. Hester or Dr. Hunt's Shakespeare classes and Dr. Halpern's Proust class.

GoPack: If a movie were made about you, which actor should play the part of you?
AC: Cate Blanchett.

GoPack: Why did you choose to come to NC State?
AC: Location, student organizations and scholarship.

GoPack: When you were a kid what did you want to be a when you grew up?
AC: Marine biologist and then a photographer.

GoPack: Nobody knows how much you like to what?
AC: Travel and take pictures.

GoPack: What was your most embarrassing moment on the court?
AC: Getting to wear a bright red sweat band with goggles ... I looked like I was going skiing.

GoPack: What is your greatest moment outside of volleyball?
AC: Studying abroad in Florence.

GoPack: What pre-match rituals do you have?
AC: Listen to music.

GoPack: Who would you like to switch places for a day with?
AC: Vera Wang or Sarah Ramirez (Tony award winner for Spamalot).

GoPack: What are your favorite hobbies?
AC: Reading and designing clothes.

GoPack: What is your favorite place on campus?
AC: Court of the Carolinas without a gazebo.

GoPack: Who has influenced you the most in your life?
AC: My family and various pastors who have influenced the way I look at life.

GoPack: If you were in charge of practice for a week, what would you do?
AC: Pass and work on shot placement.

GoPack: What was the funniest incident on a road trip last year?
AC: Having Halloween costumes.

GoPack: Which teammate is most likely to be a head coach one day?
AC: Andi Bentley.

GoPack: Who is the funniest member of the team?
AC: Casey, she's always got something to say and it usually makes me laugh.

GoPack: Which reality TV show would you like to be on?
AC: I'm not a fan of reality TV, it takes careers away from people who actually have talent. I'd love to be in a period piece TV show though.

GoPack: Which magazine cover would you like to be on?
AC: A surfing one because that would mean I could surf, which is a skill I have yet to attain.

GoPack: What event in history would you have liked to have witnessed?
AC: The Early Church

GoPack: What is you favorite all-time Christmas gift?
AC: My favorite navy-ish pants ... I've had them and worn them for about 8 years now.

GoPack: What do you plan to be doing 10 years from now?
AC: Something that I'm not now.

GoPack: What is your favorite movie?
AC: Pride and Prejudice (the 6 hour version).

GoPack: What is your favorite food?
AC: Anything Italian or Mexican
