Sydney Hill and the Dunes Volleyball Club captured a Junior Olympic championship over the weekend

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Sydney Hill, an incoming first-year with the Virginia volleyball team, claimed the Girls' 18 American Tournament title at the 2007 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Championships over the weekend in Minneapolis. Hill, a member of Dunes Volleyball Club, was also named to the 15-member all-tournament team.

Dunes Volleyball Club bested a field of 48 teams over 10 days to claim the title. Hill, a native of Kalamazoo, Mich., plays middle for Dunes, which is based out of Michigan City, Ind.

Hill will be one of five newcomers to the Cavalier program this year. Virginia kicks off the 2007 season Aug. 24 against Texas Tech in Las Vegas.
