FSU Volleyball: European Tour, Day Nine
May 17, 2000
We packed up the bus after sleeping in and left beautiful Prague at 11:00am. The drive to Berlin took us through Sweden where we stopped for a quick lunch at McDonald's again. We arrived in Berlin at 6:30pm and checked into the Hotel Birth. This was an older hotel with a walk up a flight of stairs before you got to the small elevator. We decided to use the lift for the luggage and walked up another flight of steps to our rooms. The hotel is in a great location near the famous street...Kurfurstendamm or Ku ' Damm. Within walking distance is Ka De We, the largest department store in continental Europe, the Zoo and Aquarium, and other sites. We met for dinner at 8:45pm and walk down the street to a steak restaurant with a salad bar. Dinner was great and at 11:00pm we went down the street to the Europa Center watching a liquid clock change time, what a fascinating site! We celebrated Nancy Marcus' 50th birthday with cake and cola and
listen to the cars honking and people screaming and waving flags...the
Turkish beat the British in a soccer game!
