The NC State volleyball team, coaches and various NC State Athletics staff will be participating in the 15th Annual Serono/Pfizer Multiple Sclerosis Walk.

The walk, which starts at 10 a.m. this Saturday, April 17, 2004, features one-mile family walk, as well as three-mile and five-mile walks. The goals of the walk are to increase awareness of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Eastern North Carolina, and help raise $350,000 in the fight against MS.

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord. MS usually strikes adults in the prime of life (between the ages of 20 and 50), with one new case being diagnosed every hour.

By making a pledge to the National MS Society, you will support national research efforts towards finding the cause and cure for MS in addition to helping fund local programs for nearly 3,200 people in Eastern North Carolina with this devastating disease.

If you are interested in walking and/or sponsoring team NC State Athletics on behalf of NC State volleyball, please call the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at (919) 834-0678 or to visit their website CLICK HERE.
