Florida State 2000 Volleyball Schedule Set

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State volleyball Head Coach Dr. Cecile Reynaud has released the Lady Seminoles' 2000 schedule. Next season's slate will be highlighted by three regular-season tournaments, a meeting with rival-Florida in Tallahassee and the always-competitive Atlantic Coast Conference schedule. The ACC was ranked as the second-toughest volleyball conference in the country, behind the Big Ten, in the 1999 RPI ratings recently released by the NCAA Volleyball Committee. FSU will open the season on September 1st with the FSU Classic, including Southern Mississippi, Florida Atlantic, Charleston Southern and Illinois. The Tribe will also host another tournament later in the month, Sept. 15-16, featuring Notre Dame, Samford and FAMU. In between the two home tournaments, the Lady Seminoles will travel to Muncie, Indiana, to participate in the Ball State Tournament with Texas El Paso and Southeast Missouri State. It will be a homecoming of sorts for Lady Seminoles Kristin Frye and Jamie Hibbard, who hail from Fort Wayne, Ind. Florida State will open the ACC season on the road at Maryland
on September 22. The Florida match will be played at Tully Gym on
September 26 and FSU's first home ACC match will be vs. NC State on

Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C., Nov. 16-19.
