Several Duke volleyball players were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the 2002 season, head coach Jolene Nagel announced.

Captain's Awards were given to seniors Jill Sonne, Rachel Vander Griend and Josie Weymann at the team's postseason banquet. Senior Jill Sonne was named the team's Most Valuable Player. Sophomore Stephanie Istvan was honored with the Team Academic Award. Junior Meghan Brown was named the Most Improved Player. The Unsung Hero Award went to senior Rachel Vander Griend.

The Blue Devils posted their highest win total since 1994 as they went 24-10 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year.
