Wake Forest's Natalie Mullikin

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest's Natalie Mullikin headlines the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Volleyball Team which also included seven All-ACC honorees and four Honorable Mention All-Americans as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Mullikin, a senior for the Demon Deacons from Lebanon, Ind., was named ACC Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the year. She finished her four year career last year by setting the Wake Forest career blocks record at 521. Mullikin was an honorable mention All-American in 2008. She was named first-team All-ACC in 2008 and 2007 as well as second-team All-ACC in 2006. The Demon Deacon senior started every game in her four-year career at Wake Forest as the middle blocker. She is a four-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree as a Health and Exercise Science major.

Florida State led the league with five selections to the 30-member squad, followed by Duke and Virginia with four honorees. Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia Tech each had three selections while Wake Forest, NC State and Georgia Tech received two honorees. Miami had one selection to the squad.
