Cavaliers Sweep Boston College

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia volleyball team extended its winning streak Saturday evening with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-18) win over Boston College in Memorial Gymnasium. The win completes the season sweep over the Eagles for the Cavaliers and improves their record to 16-13 on the season and 8-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Boston College falls to 7-22 and 1-16 in the league.

Fifth-year Beth Shelton (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the Cavaliers’ attack for the third-straight match, knocking down 12 kills. Third-year Lauren Dickson (Austin, Texas) contributed eight.

    BLACKSBURG, Va.- The Virginia Tech volleyball squad sent its two seniors out on a high note in the team’s final home match of the season, with a sweep of Maryland (25-17, 25-19, 25-19) on Saturday night at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

    Tech’s two seniors, Kristen Cunningham and Sarah Muñoz, were honored before the match with a video presentation, and the Hokies rode the pre-game emotion to victory. Cunningham registered 10 kills and hit at a .500 clip, while Munoz tallied 12 digs in the contest.
