Catanach Leads Duke To 3-2 Win Over Florida State TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Kellie Catanach served up a career-high 62 assists and picked up 17 digs to lead the Duke volleyball team to a 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10) win over Florida State Sunday afternoon on Lucy McDaniel Court. Catanach saw over 42 percent of her sets go down for kills as Duke (18-7, 9-4 ACC) racked up 71 kills against the Seminoles (15-6, 7-6 ACC). Catanach, a 6-2 freshman from Tampa, Fla. (Plant), averaged 12.4 assists per set in the match and had at least 10 on the first four sets before tossing up eight along with a kill in Duke’s 15-10 fifth-set win. She also recorded her 10th double-double of the season.
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The North Carolina volleyball team picked up its fourth straight win Sunday afternoon in College Park, Md. as the Tar Heels swept Maryland, 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-23), to improve to 15-9 overall and just a game behind Clemson in the Atlantic Coast Standings with a 9-4 record. Senior Lauren Prussing led Carolina with 14 kills on the day with a team-high hitting percentage of .433 as Carolina dropped Maryland to 6-19 overall and 2-11 in the ACC. The Tar Heels will look to keep it going as they close out the road portion of their schedule at Virginia (Nov. 7) and at Virginia Tech (Nov. 8).
Demon Deacons Bounce Back To Sweep Miami CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Four different Demon Deacons recorded double-digit digs to lead the Wake Forest volleyball team to a three-set sweep of host Miami Sunday afternoon at the James Knight Complex. Sophomore setter Kelsey Jones also surpassed the 2,000 career assist mark as she dished out 36 helpers in the win. Jones was also just four kills away from a triple-double as she recorded a season-high six kills and 12 digs.
