Miami Holds Off Maryland in Volleyball, 3-1

Coral Gables, Fla. - Freshman outside hitter Lane Carico put down 17 kills to lead a quartet of Hurricanes in double figures for kills as the university of Miami claimed a 3-1 victory (24-26, 34-32, 25-22, 25-23) over the visiting University of Maryland on Sunday afternoon in ACC volleyball action at the James L. Knight Sports Complex in Coral Gables, Fla.

Miami (17-2, 5-2 ACC) had to fight for every point on Sunday as the visiting Maryland Terrapins gave them everything they could ask for in a Sunday matinee volleyball matchup in south Florida.

  • Florida State Dominates The Court With 3-0 Sweep Over Boston College

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State volleyball proved there's no place like home as the Seminoles completed a weekend sweep, downing Boston College 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-15) on Lucy McDaniel Court on Sunday afternoon. FSU improves to 11-6 overall and 3-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference while the Eagles slip to 6-13 overall and remain winless in the conference at 0-7.

    Looking like she never missed four matches with an eye injury, junior Brianna Barry was once again the offensive leader for the Noles with 11 kills and an impressive .625 attack percentage. The middle blocker also recorded two block assists and posted 12 points.
