TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Lady Seminole volleyball team rallied for a come-from-behind five-game victory tonight, 7-15, 15-12, 3-15, 15-11, 15-7 over Wake Forest, in front of 512 fans in Tully Gym. The win was FSU's first in Atlantic Coast Conference play this season. Florida State improves to 10-6 overall, 1-2 in the ACC, while Wake Forest dropped to 12-4, 2-2 in the conference.

Florida State sandwiched a 15-12 game two victory in between a pair of sluggish games as the Demon Deacons took the first and third game to lead the match 2-1.

Pinpoint kills from outside hitters LaToya Washington and Holly Schneider sparked the Lady Seminoles to an early edge in the fourth game. Sophomore Kate Hemlepp turned to the offspeed dink to drop five of her seven game four kills over the Wake Forest defense and help FSU tie the match at two games apiece.

Rookie middle hitter Norisha Campbell, in for the injured Aisha Thornton, led the Lady Seminoles at the net in the decisive fifth game. FSU scored five points with strong blocks enroute to an emotional 15-7 game five win for the match.

"We're excited to get back home and get our first ACC win," said head coach Cecile Reynaud after the match. "With Aisha Thornton (ankle) and Jen Werrick (flu) out, we had to make some adjustments, but things worked out for us. Hopefully, this will get the momentum going for our team."

Six Lady Seminoles tallied three or more block assists as FSU posted a season-high 24 against the Demon Deacons. The freshman Campbell led the way with eight block assists, while fellow middle hitter Susan Hawks added four. Four FSU players tallied double-doubles -- Hemlepp, Schneider, Washington, and setter Fiona Bolten.

Christy Kelley posted 17 kills and Katie Horne added 15 for Wake Forest. Trina Maso de Moya led the Demon Deacon defense with 21 digs.

The Lady Seminoles continue conference play Saturday when they meet the Duke Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. in Tully Gym. Admission is free.
