Duke Takes Down Colorado State 3-1 in Home Opener
Rachael Moss hammered 13 kills and four service aces while earning her first double-double of the season to lead Duke to a 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-13) win over Colorado State Wednesday evening in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Moss took over in the 25-13 fourth-set win, stringing together three consecutive service aces as part of a 9-2 run in the match winner. The 5-10 senior accounted for a team-leading 17.5 points in the home opener to give Duke (6-1, 0-0 ACC) its fourth straight win.

Moss' 14 digs were part of an overpowering defensive effort that saw Duke hold the Rams (4-3) to a .072 hitting percentage and just two service aces. Libero Claire Smalzer picked up 20 digs in the four-set affair, while sophomore Amanda Robertson turned in 19 and a pair of blocks. Freshman Christiana Gray helped out at the net, putting back five blocks, as did sophomore Sophia Dunworth (three blocks) and junior Becci Burling (two blocks).
