Storrs, Conn. - After losing a thrilling five game match to Connecticut last night, the Eagles tried to bounce back against another Huskies team but unfortunately, fell to the Northern Illinois Huskies 3-0.

BC played a very tough first game as the two teams fought hard to get the early advantage. After trailing early 5-1, the Eagles were able to pull ahead late 25-22 after an attacking error on the Huskies. Trying to stave off Northern Illinois, the match was tied at 26-26 with BC serving. But, serving at 29-28, the Huskies were able to hang on and take an important game one.

Northern Illinois jumped out to a quick lead in game two leading 15-6 halfway through the game. The Huskies increased the deficit to as many as 18 at 27-9 and would close out the game with a score of 30-12.

BC led early in game three 4-2 but the Huskies would take eight out of the next nine point to take a 10-5 lead. The Eagles were able to close to within 14-12 but that would be as close as they would get as Northern Illinois would pull away for a 30-28 victory.

NIU senior Kate McCullah led the way for the Huskies. posting 22 kills, while sophomore Mandi Caputo tallied 43 assists. Dorota Niemczewska and Kelsey Johnson each posted 11 kills for the Eagles.

BC will play its final game of the Uconn Volleyball Classic when it takes on Quinnipiac University, Saturday, September 9 at 3:00 p.m.
