Alida Gallovits falls to No. 2 seed in NCAA Tourney

TALLAHASSEE, FL.-- Florida State's Alida Gallovits took on Ansley Cargill of Duke in the second round of the 2001 NCAA Individual Tennis Championships in Stone Mountain, G.A., on May 23rd. Cargill, the ITA Rookie of the Year and the No. 2 player in the nation, would take the win in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, and move into the round of 16 after a near perfect performance.

After going 12-2 in the fall and 12-13 overall in spring play, Gallovits finishes her junior campaign with 25 singles victories, the most on the FSU women's tennis team in 2000-01. She was the Golden Nole Award winner as the team MVP and made the All-ACC team for the third consecutive year.
