STONE MOUNTAIN, GA. -- Led by the second-ranked, second-seeded freshman Ansley Cargill, four Duke women's tennis players will compete in the NCAA Individual Singles and Doubles competition beginning on Tuesday at the Lincoln Tennis Center in Stone Mountain, Ga. Others competing include senior's Megan Miller and Kathy Sell and freshman Amanda Johnson.

Cargill, a native of nearby Atlanta, Ga., is seeded second and will take on 61st-ranked Kim Gates of Tennessee at 2:00 PM. Cargill, the ITA National Rookie of the Year, has tallied a 42-3 record this season and has won 25 of her last 26 matches. The top 16 seed for Cargill gives her All-America honors as a freshman.

Johnson, a product of Bettendorf, Iowa, is currently ranked 10th-nationally and will battle 46th-ranked Lindsay Dawaf of Florida at 9:00 AM. Earlier this season, Johnson defeated Dawaf in a dual match in Gainesville, Fla., 7-5, 7-6. The NCAA seeds the top 16 players for the tournament, but Johnson was not seeded even though she is currently ranked in the top 10 in the latest ITA rankings. She has posted a 38-4 singles record in her first year at Duke.

Making her third appearance in the NCAA individual competition, Miller will take on 25th-ranked Anne Nguyen of Georgia at 9:00 AM. Back in February, Miller fell to Nguyen 7-5, 6-2 in the National Team Indoors. Miller, a Palm City, Fla. native, notched a 22-4 singles record in her final year with the Blue Devils.

Sell, out of Moorestown, N.J., is paired up against 62nd-ranked Christine Fusano of California at 2:00 PM. Coming off winning the Southeast Region Senior Player of the Year, Sell posted a 34-12 record this season.

Duke's ninth-ranked doubles duo of Miller/Johnson is the only Blue Devil team to compete in the NCAA doubles competition. The Blue Devil duo will battle 16th-ranked Sarah Riske/Aleke Tsoubanos of Vanderbilt at 3:30 PM. The tandem was 26-8 this season.

The singles and doubles competition will take place from May 22-25.
