Time Set for Tar Heels' NCAA Women's Tennis Match
May 10, 1999 CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina women's tennis team will begin play in the 1999 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday when the Tar Heels take on the Washington Huskies at Oxford, Miss. at 2:30 p.m. C.D.T. (3:30 Eastern). The regional is being hosted by the University of Mississippi, which has earned the #4 seed in the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship. The Rebels will play host to Alabama State in the first semifinal match of the regional on Saturday, May 15 at 8 a.m. with the UNC-Washington match scheduled that afternoon. The championship match is slated for Sunday, May 16 at 11 a.m. C.D.T. The winner of the regional will advance to the NCAA Final 16 where play will begin in Gainesville, Fla. on May 20. This marks North Carolina's first ever bid to the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships.
