GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference collected 18 selections - 13 singles and five doubles teams - to participate in the 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis Individual Championships. A total of 17 student-athletes from six league schools were among the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams tabbed for singles and doubles competition.

The ACC garnered three automatic qualifiers with Clemson's Ani Mijacika and Georgia Tech's Amanda McDowell for singles and Clemson's Carol Salge and Mijacika for doubles. Mijacika earned the No. 2 seed in singles, while McDowell received the seventh seed.

Georgia Tech's Kristi Miller, the 2008 ACC Player of the Year, and Sanaz Marand from North Carolina were at-large picks for seeds 9-16 in singles.

In doubles, Clemson's Salge and Mijacika was tabbed the fourth seed while Duke's tandem of Melissa Mang and Amanda Granson notched an at-large spot for seeds 5-8.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 21-26 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following the conclusion of the team championship (May 15-20). The University of Tulsa will serve as host.
