GREENSBORO, N.C. - Five North Carolina players head up the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis All-Conference Team, as selected by a vote of the league's nine head coaches. Also among the honorees are four players each from Duke and Clemson, and one from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia and Wake Forest.

For the second time in the past three years, the Duke Blue Devils have garnered ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors. Kelly McCain, last year's ACC Rookie of the Year, finished the ACC regular-season with a 7-0 mark at the No. 1 singles slot for the Blue Devils. The Wesley Chapel, Fla., native is currently No. 3 in the latest ITA rankings and has a 21-1 dual match record this season.

This year's ACC Rookie of the Year is Georgia Tech's Kelly Anderson who in her first season finished the ACC regular-season with a 5-0 record at No. 3 singles and was 13-5 at No. 1 doubles with partner Jaime Wong. The Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, native is the first Yellow Jacket to garner ACC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Year honors.

Duke's Jamie Ashworth was named ACC Coach of the Year, his second such honor. Ashworth has led the Blue Devils to seven consecutive unbeaten streaks in Atlantic Coast Conference play (56-0). This season his team has recorded a 23-2 overall record.
