GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College senior Erina Kikuchi has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after her unbeaten week included a victory over the nation’s 37th-ranked player at No. 1 singles and led the Eagles to a pair of conference wins.
Kikuchi helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 weekend, tallying two ACC wins at home. The New York City native and partner Jessica Wacnik tallied two doubles victories in the No. 1 position, including the only one against NC State. Kikuchi also earned a win over her first ranked opponent of the year, beating 37th-ranked Joelle Kissell on Court One to clinch the win for the Eagles over the Wolfpack, marking the first time in program history BC had beaten NC State. Kikuchi and Wacnik also teamed up for an 8-3 win over Wake Forest’s Ryann Cutillo and Kayla Duncan on the No. 1doubles court, helping BC to a 6-1 team win.
