Florida State's McCreless named ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State senior Lauren McCreless has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. McCreless led the Seminoles to a pair of conference wins with singles victories over two nationally ranked opponents and moved up to the No. 1 spot on FSU’s all-time singles win list.
Playing on court one, the 20th-ranked McCreless scored a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Wake Forest’s 64th-ranked Martina Pavelec and a 6-4, 6-2 win over NC State’s Sandhya Nagaraj. The win in the match vs. No. 43 Wake Forest proved crucial in a 4-3 FSU team victory. In the match vs. 30th-ranked NC State, McCreless’ singles win, coupled with an 8-2 triumph alongside teammate Francesca Segarelli in No. 1 doubles, keyed the 17th-ranked Seminoles to a 7-0 victory.
McCreless not only ranks No. 1 in all-time singles victories with 97, she has played her best tennis as a college senior. The Ogden, Utah, native owns seven singles wins over fellow ranked opponents this season.
