Duke's Plotkin Named ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke senior Elizabeth Plotkin has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after an unbeaten weekend that included a key singles victory in the sixth-ranked Blue Devils’ win over seventh-ranked Michigan.
Plotkin, a native of San Francisco, battled back to win in three sets against Michigan’s Tania Mahtani at No. 3 singles. Plotkin’s 6-7, 6-0, 6-1 win clinched an eventual 5-2 Duke win. Plotkin also teamed with Reka Zsilinszka for an 8-0 win over Mahtani and Denise Muresan at No. 8 doubles.
Plotkin capped her weekend by cruising to a straight set victory over Furman’s Monica Arguello at No. 1 singles and also teamed with Zsilinszka for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles as the Blue Devils won by a 7-0 score. Duke improved to 8-1 on the season with the two victories and remained unbeaten this season in Durham.
