GT's Kilborn, UNC's De Bruycker Named ACC Women's Tennis Players of Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Elizabeth Kilborn and North Carolina’s Zoe De Bruycker have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Co-Players of the Week after each led their teams to a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents during the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Kickoff Weekend.
Tech’s Kilborn, a junior from Marietta, Ga., cruised to two straight set wins and lost only two games in two matches. Kilborn scored a 6-1, 6-0 win over 80th-ranked Dijana Stojic of No. 27 South Carolina in the championship match. Prior to that, she defeated Maryna Kozachenko of No. 54 Georgia State 6-0, 6-1. KIlborn and doubles partner Lynn Blau also improved to 6-0 on the season with an 8-2 win over South Carolina’s Josefin Anderson and Anya Morgina.
UNC’s De Bruycker, a junior from Saratoga, Calif., won a pair of singles matches at the No. 1 position and two doubles matches at No. 2 vs. No. 61 Marshall and No. 51 Brown. De Bruycker turned back Marshall’s Dominka Zapranza 6-4, 6-0 and defeated Brown’s Misia Krasowski by a 7-6 (2), 6-0 score. De Bruycker also dropped just five games in doubles while teaming with partner Shinann Featherston for a pair of wins.
