Georgia Tech's Krupina Named ACC Women's Tennis Player Of The Week Presented By Chevrolet

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech senior Sasha Krupina has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after playing a pivotal role in the Yellow Jackets’ 5-2 win over ninth-ranked Northwestern on Sunday.
Teaming with Caroline Lilley at No. 1 doubles, Krupina helped turn back the 30th-ranked Northwestern team of Linda Abu Mushrefova and Nida Hamilton. The doubles win by Tech’s 66th-ranked duo helped the Yellow Jackets secure the key doubles point by a 2-1 margin heading into singles play.
Krupina, a native of Moscow, Russia, then delivered the clinching match point for the 16ht-ranked Yellow Jackets, turning back Mushrefova by a 6-2, 6-1 margin.
ACC teams are in the midst of a full week of action that will be highlighted by the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Eight conference teams will compete in hope of advancing to the ITA National Indoor Championships, slated Feb. 18-21 in Charlottesville, Va.
