MALIBU, Calif. - Junior Kathy Sell (Moorestown, N.J.) fell in the second round of the NCAA singles competition on Tuesday to No. 7 seed Whitney Laiho of Florida (2-6, 5-7). Sell was making her first NCAA individual competition appearance and made it past the first round, but ran into Laiho, who is ranked No. 8 nationally.

Sell concludes her junior season with a 35-16 singles record and ranked No. 37. The NCAA competition was being held at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
