No. 5 Virginia Advances to Semifinals with 4-3 win over Georgia Tech
RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 5 seeded Virginia Cavaliers downed the No. 4 seeded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 4-3 to advance to the semifinals of 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Virginia took the doubles point with wins from No. 1 Williams/Tuchband and No. 2 K. James/Stern. The Cavaliers' Henriette Williams clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1. Virginia also received singles wins from Kristen James at No. 3 and Lori Stern at No. 4. Georgia Tech's Jaime Wong, Lyndsay Shosho and Sekita Grant all recorded singles wins for the Jackets at No. 2, No.5 and No. 6, respectively.

With the win, Virginia improves its record to 15-8 while Georgia Tech drops to 13-6. The Cavaliers will face the No. 1 seeded Duke Blue Devils in the semifinals at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 19.

No. 2 Clemson records win over No. 8 Wake Forest in Quarterfinal ACC Women's Tennis play
RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 2 seeded Clemson Tigers defeated the No. 8 seeded Wake Forest Demon Deacons 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Championship held at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Clemson won the doubles point with victories by No. 2 Alvarez/Lacelarie and No. 3 Dolinska/LeSaldo before collecting three singles wins from No. 3 Daniela Alvarez, Ioana Paun at No. 4 and Ania Dolinska at No. 6.

Clemson improves its record to 18-4 while Wake Forest drops to 4-22. The Tigers will face North Carolina in tomorrow's semifinal at 1:00 p.m.

No. 3 North Carolina defeats No. 6 Florida State to Advance to Semifinals in ACC Women's Action
RALEIGH, N.C. - The No. 3 seeded North Carolina Tar Heels downed the No. 6 seeded Florida State Seminoles 4-0 to advance to the semifinals of 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

North Carolina won the doubles point with victories from No. 1 Mojzis/Cline as well as at No. 3 from Bunn/Pinchbeck. In singles play, the Tar Heels picked up wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

With the victory North Carolina improves its record to 16-7 while Florida State drops to 13-10. The Tar Heels will face the No. 2 seeded Clemson Tigers in tomorrow's semifinal match at 1:00 p.m.
