ATLANTA - Georgia Tech's 33rd-ranked women's tennis team closes out the regular season at Clemson at 10:30 a.m. Saturday looking for improved singles play as the Yellow Jackets gear up for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.

"Clemson is a talented team," said Tech head coach Sue Hutchinson. "We are in the toughest part of our schedule, and there are no easy matches in the ACC. We need to step up more in singles and have the confidence that we can win the match. We are right there, but we just need to get over the hump of pulling out the match."

Tech (11-8 overall, 2-5 ACC) received more solid doubles play in weekend losses to 18th-ranked Florida State and 19th-ranked Wake Forest.

Freshman Mason Miller (Gainesville, Ga.) and junior Sabrina Pardo (Aix En Provence, France), who are 10-3, downed Florida State's 40th-ranked tandem of Alida Gallovits and Nanette Duxin, while sophomore Bobbi Guthrie (Raleigh, N.C.) and junior Tamarra Jenkin (New Braunfels, Texas) won against the Seminoles and Demon Deacons.

"Mason and Sabrina are having a great year in doubles," Hutchinson said. "Bobbi and Tamarra are also a solid team. We are getting good play from our doubles teams."
