Doubles Sweep Gives Tech Women's Tennis Win Over Wahoos
April 3, 1999 ATLANTA - Georgia Tech's 28th-ranked women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches to rally past No. 43 Virginia, 5-4, in an Atlantic Coast Conference match Saturday. The Yellow Jacket duos of Sabrina Pardo and Mason Miller, Bobbi Guthrie and Tamarra Jenkin, and Autumn Richards and Sybi Parker won at Nos. 1 through 3 respectively, as Tech (11-6 overall, 2-2 ACC) erased a 4-2 deficit in topping the Cavaliers (9-5, 0-2 ACC). Pardo and Richards provided the Jackets with their two singles wins prior to doubles play. Pardo downed Paige Boiko at No. 1, while Richards topped Kelly Weaver at No. 6. Tech will play its second ACC match in as many days when the Yellow Jackets travel to No. 41 Maryland for a 1 p.m. match Sunday in College Park.
