Tech Women's Tennis Tripped at Miami, 7-2
March 25, 1999 CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Miami won five of six singles matches as the No. 25 Hurricanes downed 28th-ranked Georgia Tech, 7-2, Thursday in women's tennis action at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. Junior Tamarra Jenkin posted the only singles win of the day for the Jackets (10-3). Jenkin downed Miami's Alanna Broderick, 6-3, 7-6, at No. 5 singles. She also teamed with sophomore Bobbi Guthrie to register the Jackets' only doubles victory, an 8-3 win against Broderick and Katia Bogomolova at No. 2. Bogomolova wrapped up the win for the Hurricanes (11-7), who snapped Tech's five-match win streak. She downed Guthrie, ranked No. 101 in singles, 7-6, 6-2, at No. 2. The Yellow Jackets return home for a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference matches this weekend. Tech hosts No. 27 North Carolina on Saturday and second-ranked Duke on Sunday. Both matches start at 11 a.m. at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
