Tech Women's Tennis Trounces MTSU

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech's women's tennis team won its third straight dual meet Sunday by defeating Middle Tennessee State 7-0 at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.

The Yellow Jackets (3-0) swept the singles matches with Xenia Uy, Sybi Parker, Autumn Richards, Tamarra Jenkin and Sabrina Pardo all winning in straight sets. Tech freshman Laura Ozolins won at No. 6 singles by default.

Tech's tandems of Parker and Pardo and Uy and Richards also won in doubles action. Middle Tennessee State (0-4) also defaulted its No. 3 doubles match giving Jenkin and Ozolins the win.

The Lady Raiders suited only five players for Sunday's match.

Georgia Tech returns to action Thursday when the Yellow Jackets travel to Athens for a 3 p.m. match with Georgia.
