GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Softball Team was announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The 52-member team was voted on by the five league institutions that sponsor the sport as decided by the league's 50th Anniversary Committee.

Florida State led all league schools with 24 members on the Golden Anniversary team while North Carolina and Virginia were tied for second with ten honorees each. Maryland had five players, while Georgia Tech had three players selected.

The ACC's 50th Anniversary Softball team, in alphabetical order, is as follows:

Rebecca Aase, Florida State (1991-1994)
All-Region second-team in 1994 ... All-ACC (1992 and 1993) ... holds four different NCAA records including the record for the most consecutive victories in a career (50) ... went 28-0 as a sophomore and is tied with Lisa Fernandez (UCLA) for the All-Time NCAA single season winning percentage record (1.000) ... All-ACC Tournament team (1992).

Natalie Anter, North Carolina (1999-2001)
Three-time All-Southeast Region selection ... Three-time All-ACC pick ... Named All-ACC Tournament in 1999 & 2001 ... UNC's career leader in home runs ... third in the ACC in career home runs ... Approaching UNC's career record for RBI ... Outstanding defensive player at catcher.

Brandy Arthur, North Carolina (1995-1998)

Virginia Augusta, North Carolina (1984-1987)

Dana Bailey, Florida State (1996-1999)
Garnered first-team All-Southeast Region (1998) ... earned ACC All-Tournament team honors ... was as All-ACC selection (1998) and was runner-up Player of the Year ... stole 60 bases in her career which ranks seventh all-time for FSU ... ranked fourth in the ACC in batting and second in steals per game average (0.40).

Kimmy Carter, Florida State (1999-2001)
Has started 181 games in a row at FSU ... All-Region second-team selection in 2000 ... on the verge of setting seven all-time FSU records including records for hits, doubles, triples and RBIs ... had four hits and two RBIs in the Seminoles' run to the finals of the 2001 NCAA Tallahassee Regional ... two-time ACC Player of the Week.

Kristy Hull, Florida State (1995-1998)
Louisville Slugger All-Region first-team in 1995 and second-team in 1996 and 1998 ... All-ACC honors in 1997 and 1998 ... All-ACC Tournament team all four years at FSU ... All-Tournament team at Seminole Invitational (1995, 1996 and 1998) ... over her career, she collected 275 hits, 114 RBIs and a .335 batting average.

Cindy Lawton, Florida State (1994-1995)
Named third-team All-American (1995) ... selected All-Region second-team (1994) ... 1995 ACC Player of the Year & All-ACC selection ... ACC Championships MVP ... still holds the third-highest batting average in FSU softball history (.358) & is fourth all-time with 25 doubles.

Marla Looper, Florida State (1993-1994)
Named third-team All-American in 1994 ... first-team All-South Region selection (1993 and 1994) ... All-ACC selection (1993 and 1994) ... ACC All-Tournament team in 1993 and 1994 ... has the fifth-best ERA in FSU history (0.78) ... Seminole Invitational All-Tournament team in 1993 ... picked up an NCAA Regional Tournament win after pitching 15 innings in a four and a half hour game versus Iowa.

Cortney Madea, Maryland (1997-2000)

Listed tenth in ACC history with 107 RBI and second all-time at Maryland ... FSU played in the College World Series three times during her career ... established the school record (which she still holds) for sacrifice hits in 1992 with 25 ... ranks seventh in school history with 258 career games played.

Misty Molin, Florida State (1995-1998)
Led the team with four triples and 38 RBI in 1997 ... career leader at FSU with 25 doubles and 97 RBI in four seasons ... started 223 of 238 games during her FSU career ... hit .370 her junior year en route to being named an NFCA first-team All-Region selection, garnering All-ACC honors and ACC Player of the Week honors ... named to the All-ACC team her freshman season and garnered All-Tournament honors at the Seminole and Tar Heel Invitational Tournaments ... went to the NCAA Tournament three of her four years as a Seminole and won four ACC Titles.

Jennifer Potzman, Maryland (1998-2001)
Filled the Terrapins' shortstop position for her entire four years; is the only softball player in Terrapin history to start and play in every game of her career ... ACC's all-time leader in walks ... A two-time All-ACC selection (1998 and 1999) and 1999 NFCA All Mid-Atlantic Region honoree ... Ranks in the top-five in every category in the Maryland record books, and is the all-time leader in games played, games started, runs scored, triples, walks and RBI ... Verizon Academic All-District team (2000) ... second FSU player ever named NFCA/Louisville Slugger Division I Player of the Week ... 2001 All-ACC Tournament team ... led FSU in seven offensive categories and was second in six others in 2000 ... already among FSU's All-Time leaders in six categories after two seasons.

Jessica van der Linden, Florida State (2001)
Named ACC Rookie of the Year and to the All-ACC team her freshman year in 2001 ... posted a miniscule 0.84 ERA as a freshman as she was part of a Seminoles staff that won the NCAA ERA title in 2001 ... first player in Florida State history to throw three no-hitters in one season ... led the entire staff as she held opposing batters to a .111 average ... hit .310 with the second-most doubles in a single season at FSU (14) ... among FSU's offensive leaders in 14 of 17 categories ... had 18 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI outings.

Stacy Venable, Florida State (1997-1999)
All-ACC Team (1998 and 1999) ... MVP honors at 1998 ACC Championships after leading team to the title with a 3-0 record and 0.37 ERA ... 1999 All-ACC Tournament team ... Stephanie Weitman, Georgia Tech (1992-1995)
1992 ACC Rookie of the Year ... second-team All-Region honoree in 1995 and a two-time All-ACC selection ('94, '95) ... earned All-ACC Tournament honors in '94 and '95 ... owns the second-highest batting average in Tech history with a .355 career mark ... third in all-time hits (226) and second in both home runs (16) and runs batted in (123).

Jen White-Stokes, Florida State (1998-2001)
First-team All-Region (2001) and second-team All-Region (1998) ... member of the 2001 FSU pitching staff that ranked first in the nation in ERA and posted the nation's sixth-best ERA ... posted nation's sixth-best ERA (0.63) ... All-NCAA Regional team (2001) ... garnered NFCA Outstanding Player honors ... ACC and SASA Pitcher of the Week honors twice and ACC/SASA Player of the Week honors twice in April of 2001.

Laura Williams, Georgia Tech (1994-1997)
A four-time All-ACC choice at shortstop ... the lone Tech player to earn the league's Player of the Year award, which she did as a senior in 1997 ... Became the Jackets' first All-American and earned All-Region honors in 1997 ... 1994 ACC Rookie of the Year ... owns Tech's highest career batting average, .419 ... NFCA Academic All-American in '96 and a three-time GTE Academic All-District III choice.

Shamalene Wilson, Florida State (1993-1995)
