TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State University Sports Information Office earned its third national award for publication excellence by Co-SIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) during the 2001-02 academic year today. The 2002 softball media guide was judged as the second best in the nation among all Division I schools.

Assistant sports information director Elliott Finebloom wrote and edited the softball media guide, which was designed by Cade and Associates. The guide finished No. 2 in the nation behind Texas' media guide and was first in District III.

This is the third time an FSU media guide has been recognized for a national honor this academic year. The 2001-2002 men's basketball media guide was also named second in the nation and the 2001-2002 women's basketball media guide placed fourth in the nation earlier this year.
