GREENSBORO, N.C. - For their performances both on and off the field this year, six Atlantic Coast Conference softball student-athletes were recognized on the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams with two earning 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors. Virginia Tech's Angela Tincher was a first team Academic All-America selection while Georgia Tech's Whitney Haller picked up second-team national honors after both earned first-team all-district honors.

Four other student-athletes were named to the All-District 3 second team: pitcher Melissa May from Florida State, infielders Anna Evans (North Carolina) and Aileen Morales (Georgia Tech) and designated player Heather Gelbard of NC State.

In addition, Tincher and Morales were selected Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Americans earlier this week.
