Florida State's Hamilton and North Carolina's Johnson Share Pitching Award, While Georgia Tech's Yee Earns Third Consecutive Weekly Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Florida State junior pitcher Sarah Hamilton and North Carolina senior pitcher Amber Johnson were named Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Co-Pitchers of the Week, and Georgia Tech senior second baseman Jen Yee was selected Player of the Week for the third consecutive time, announced today. Hamilton and Johnson combined to throw three no-hitters, while Yee collected a dozen hits over the weekend.
Johnson struck out 22 batters in just 14.0 innings of work in No. 25/23 North Yee continued her torrid pace by going 11-for-22 at the plate (.545) with six home runs and 14 runs batted-in for the week, guiding the No. 11/8 Yellow Jackets to five wins, including four at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The New Delta, British Columbia native had three-hit games against Kennesaw State (Feb. 24), Arkansas (Feb. 27) and Louisiana - Lafayette (Feb. 27) and homers in five of the six games, including two against the Razorbacks. After three weeks of the 2010 ACC softball season, Yee is leading the league in each triple-crown category, with a .587 batting average, 10 home runs, and 27 RBI, and leads the ACC in five other major offensive categories.
