Georgia Tech's Jen Yee and Hope Rush Tabbed ACC Player and Pitcher of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Georgia Tech senior second baseman Jen Yee and freshman pitcher Hope Rush were named Atlantic Coast Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the period ending February 14, announced today. The duo helped Georgia Tech to four victories at the University of South Florida Wilson-DeMarini Tournament, including a 3-0 shutout of No. 3/5 Florida (Feb. 13). Georgia Tech’s victory over the Gators marked a win over the highest-ranked opponent in program history. Yee batted at a .778 clip for the tournament, going seven-for-eight at the plate with a pair of doubles, one triple, two homeruns, eight runs scored, and five runs-batted in. The New Delta, British Columbia, native collected multiple hits in three of Georgia Tech’s four contests, and racked up a 1.889 slugging percentage as well as a .846 on-base percentage. Against Florida, the USA Softball Player of the Year candidate was one-for-three with a triple and one run scored.
ACC softball action continues on Wednesday, February 17 as NC State hosts NC Central at 4 p.m. and Florida State visits Florida A&M at 6 p.m. All eight league teams will play this weekend in tournament action.
