The Yellow Jackets, winners of 11 straight games and 18 of 20, advance out of regional play for the first time in school history.
Tech will host either No. 3 Washington or Massachusetts in a Super Regional next weekend at Mewborn Field. The winner of the best-of-three-game series will move onto the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla., later this month. Senior Blair Shimandle and sophomore Christy Jones each added two hits for the Jackets, while freshman Jessica Sinclair hit a two-run home run. Freshman Jessica Coan (8-3) picked up the win in relief as she allowed just one bloop single in 3.1 innings of relief work. Coan struck out six batters and did not walk anyone.
