Florida State Downs Clemson 4-0 In ACC Championship First Round

CARY, N.C. - Florida State's Viola Odebrecht scored a goal and an assist and sophomore Holly Peltzer tallied a pair of goals in less than two minutes as the Seminoles scored three second half goals to down Clemson 4-0 in the first round of the ACC Women's Soccer Championship Wednesday afternoon.
Florida State got on the board first as Odebrecht registered her ninth tally of the season as she sent a bending shot to the back post for an early 1-0 Seminole advantage. Mami Yamaguchi notched an assist on the play finding Odebrecht at the top of the box in the 38th minute of action.
Peltzer added to the Seminole lead in the second half tallying her fifth goal of the season in the 73rd minute. Odebrecht garnered an assist on the play sending a deep ball to Peltzer who dribbled past the Tiger keeper for the score.
Peltzer would add her second goal of the afternoon less than two minutes later to increase the Florida State lead to 3-0. Sophomore Sel Kuralay found Peltzer who redirected the shot for the score.
In the 77th minute, India Trotter played a long ball over the Clemson defense to Kuralay who notched goal number four on the afternoon for Florida State. The goal for Kuralay was her team leading 15th of the season.
The win moves Florida State to 17-2-0 on the season and into the semifinals where they will face Virginia on Friday, November 4 at 7:30 pm. With the loss, Clemson falls to 9-8-2 on the season.
