Boston College Quotes
Clemson 2, Boston College 1
11/1/06

Head coach Alison Foley:
On the outcome of today's match:
One team was a little more opportunistic than the other, that being Clemson. I felt they had two or three good chances and they capitalized on two. I thought we had a handful of good chances but we just didn't convert. It didn't go our way today.

On the possibility of earning a berth into the NCAA Tournament:
We really feel we are playing our best soccer and have some really good depth on our team. We are really happy that we got some people back from injuries. We think we are playing well so we are very optimistic so hopefully the NCAA will feel the same way and we will hear our name announced on Monday and be ready to go again

On the toughness of the league:
From top to bottom, anything can happen. I don't think there is a team in our conference that takes anyone lightly. I think we all know better, but it's amazing in terms of the competition from top to bottom. It's been great for our team to be a part of the ACC the past two years.

On the play of Laura Georges (ACC Defensive Player of the Year) and Gina DiMartino (ACC Freshman of the Year) throughout the season and what they have meant to Boston College this season:
Both individuals really worked for both of those awards and certainly deserved it. Gina, I think has come into this program and even on a slightly off day like today, she still found a way to earn an assist. She has contributed, in terms of her stats, tremendously to this team and that's really what we were looking for from our recruiting class, for some one who could get it done on an off day and she has done that for us. Laura Georges - I'm happy that the other coaches recognized her with that award. And from what I've seen, at her age group, she is probably one of the best defenders in our country and possibly in the world. She missed four ACC games, so you never know if people will be able to evaluate her, but with the ACC Select you get that chance.

Head coach Todd Bramble:
On the Tigers' performance today:
I'm proud of the resilience and character that our girls showed today. I thought BC was sharper than us to be fair, but we have proven ourselves down the stretch to be a very difficult team to beat. We just find different ways to hang in games, survive, stay in there. We are defending real well, we have a big time goalkeeper and we are really talented in our ability to counter attack. Even though we had fewer chances than BC today, we stuck those two chances away and that ended up being the difference in the match.

On the tournament:
In our last six ACC games this season we are 5-0-1. Coming down the stretch and playing against some top 25 teams, we are getting some good results. Our players have a lot of confidence. We still have some areas to improve on even though it's late in the season but we will start addressing those tomorrow in training. It's just good to be training here tomorrow in Cary and not back in Clemson

On playing North Carolina Friday in the semifinals:
Their record speaks for its self in the ACC Tournament. We will put together a game plan. We played them earlier in the year and I thought we really gave them a good game down at our place, but it may be different up here with it being closer to their back yard. But I like the way our team is trying to find a way to hang in games right now and get results. I'm really proud of them. We always enjoy playing Carolina because they always find a way to bring out the best in you.
