GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State forward Sanna Talonen and North Carolina forward Casey Nogueira have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Co-Players of the Week for their performances in matches played Oct. 16-19.

Talonen, a sophomore from Tampere, Finland, played a key role as the eighth-ranked Seminoles blanked 16th-ranked Wake Forest, 5-0, and defeated ninth-ranked Duke, 5-2. Talonen had a goal and an assist in the win over Wake Forest, and her score in the win over Duke gave FSU a two-goal lead in the first half.

Talonen's performance gave her five points for the week and helped FSU (12-2-1, 6-1) to back-to-back five-goal performances for the first time ever in ACC play. Talonen leads the Seminoles this season with 10 goals and 23 total points. She is now tied for fourth place in career goals on FSU's all-time list (28) and ranks eighth in points (65).

UNC's Nogueira moved into a tie for second place in the nation for most goals scored (17) after striking four times in Friday night's 5-0 win at NC State. It was the second hat trick in four games for the Raleigh, N.C., junior, who scored three times in a win at Wake Forest on Oct. 5.

Nogueira, named National Player of the Week by Top Drawer Soccer, scored her first three goals against the Wolfpack in the first 28 minutes of the match, assuring her a third career hat trick. She added her fourth score two minutes into the second half as the second-ranked Tar Heels (14-1-1, 7-0) remained unbeaten in the ACC. The four goals were the most for a UNC player since Lindsay Tarpley scored four times against Wake Forest on Oct. 14, 2003.

The ACC Player of the Week honor is the first for Talonen and the third for Nogueira, who was also cited once last season and on Oct. 7 of this year.
