GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke junior midfielder Elisabeth Redmond has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her performance in matches played Oct. 9 and 12.

Redmond scored two goals to lead the 10th-ranked Blue Devils to a 3-1 win over 15th ranked Wake Forest in last Thursday night's key ACC match in Durham. The Morristown, N.J., native posted her league-leading fifth game-winning goal in the 53rd minute, then added another score in the 63rd minute.

Redmond now leads Duke in goals scored with 10 and is tied for the team lead in assists with four. She added five shots in Sunday's 1-0 win at Maryland, where the Blue Devils escaped with a victory for the first time since 2000.

ACC women's soccer action this week finds Virginia Tech playing host to Longwood in a non-conference match on Wednesday night, while Thursday night's slate finds Miami at Clemson, Wake Forest at Florida State, and Virginia at Maryland. In addition, North Carolina travels to NC State on Friday night.

All of the matches are set for 7 p.m. starts. The Virginia Tech-Longwood, Miami-Clemson, and North Carolina-NC State matches may be viewed on the Internet via ACC Select, and the Wake-Forest-Florida State match will be telecast by FSN Florida.
