Weinberg Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke junior forward Laura Weinberg has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, announced by conference officials on Tuesday.
Weinberg totaled seven points on three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Blue Devils. The Boca Raton, Fla., native, scored two goals, including the game-winner 6:42 into overtime, in a 3-2 win at No. 15/18 Virginia Tech.
Weinberg followed up that performance with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over No. 13/23 Boston College. Her second half goal in the 64th minute put the Blue Devils ahead, 2-1, and she played a role in the final Duke strike.
Weinberg owns three game-winning goals in ACC play and five overall for the season. She was also named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week on Monday.
ACC action resumes on Thursday, Oct. 11 with four games, including Duke at NC State on ESPN3 and Virginia Tech at Florida State on Regional Sports Networks.
