Virginia's Caroline Miller Named NSCAA Player of the Week
Sept. 19, 2012
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Virginia forward Caroline Miller was selected as this week’s Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week.
Miller led the Cavaliers with a pair of multi-goal games in their opening weekend of ACC play. Miller scored twice in a span of 86 seconds in the second half to help Virginia blank NC State on Sept. 13, and scored both Virginia goals in a 2-2 draw with No. 12/6 North Carolina on Sept. 16. Miller owns eight career multi-goal games, and of those eight, five have been against ACC foes and four have been against top-10 competition.
Miller is the third student-athlete from the ACC to be awarded NSCAA National Player of the Week honors. Duke’s Kim DeCesare and Florida State’s Kristin Grubka were honored in week one and week three, respectively.
The Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Players of the Week are announced every Wednesday. One male and one female player is selected by a committee from nominations submitted by NCAA Division I conferences.
The winners will also be recognized during the NSCAA College Game of the Week broadcast on FOX Soccer.
