RANDERS, Denmark - The U.S. Under-21 Women's National Team won its fifth consecutive Nordic Cup championship, and sixth in the last seven years, with a 2-1 victory over Sweden in the title game of the world's top competition for U-21 women on Sunday. Team captain Joanna Lohman of Penn State, scored both goals for the USA, including the game-winner in the 55th minute, as the Americans continued their amazing streak on European soil.

Maryland sophomore Ali Andrzejewski (Lutherville, Md.) played in all four games for the U.S. team in helping the red,white and blue to three victories.

In the opening round, the U.S. team topped host Denmark, 1-0 on a late goal by North Carolina's Lindsay Tarpley on July 21. The team advanced to the title game with a dominating 3-0 win over Iceland on July 23 and a 1-1 tie with Norway on July 25, setting up the title match with Sweden.
