Four Incoming Women's Soccer Players Receive Player of the Year Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest incoming women's soccer players Allie Sadow, Caitlin Farrell and Jill Hutchinson were each named Player of the Year for their respective states, while Sarah Winslow was named a Regional Player of the Year for North Carolina.

Sadow, a native of Charlotte, N.C., was named the 2006 North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association (NCSCA) Women's State Soccer Player of the Year, while Winslow was selected as a NCSCA Regional Player of the Year. Sadow was also the 2004 Charlotte Observer Player of the Year and enters Wake Forest as a top-75 Soccer Buzz Magazine recruit.

Winslow is a Soccer Buzz Magazine top-150 recruit out of Wilson, N.C. Playing under head coach Toni Varacchi at Ralph L. Fike High School, Winslow earned all-conference, all-region and all-state selections from 2003-05.

Hutchinson was selected as the 2006 Pennsylvania Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of the Year. A native of Wayne, Pa., she was also named the 2005 Pennsylvania State Player of the Year and is a two-time Daily Local and Mail Line Life Player of the Year. Hutchinson enters Wake Forest this fall as a top-150 recruit by Soccer Buzz Magazine.

Farrell, a native of Fort Meyers, Fla., was selected as the Southwest Florida Player of the Year. A two-time all-state honoree, she has played on the Florida ODP team for five years, where she helped lead the team to the Region III tournament championship in 2004.
