WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Gina Om found the only goal of the game late in the second half leading the Virginia Tech Hokies over the Wake Forest women's soccer team, Wednesday night in spring soccer action at Spry Stadium.

During the 2004 season, the Demon Deacons met Virginia Tech just once and fell, 3-2, in Blacksburg. Wake Forest will face the Hokies during the 2005 regular season on September 25 in Spry Stadium.

The two teams kept the game scoreless during the first half, with the Demon Deacons taking nine shots to the Hokies four. In the second half, the two teams continued to battle until the 79 minute mark when Om was able to knock the ball in right in front of the cage. For the Demon Deacons, Elizabeth Remy had four shots, while Melanie Schneider had three.

Wake Forest will next face Florida and Old Dominion this weekend at Methodist College.
