Wake Forest Women's Soccer Defeats Region III ODP Team, 2-1, in Spring Action
April 1, 2005 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest women's soccer defeated the Region III U-17 Girls Olympic Development Team (ODP), 2-1, Friday night in spring soccer action from Spry Stadium. Sophomore Elizabeth Remy put in one for the Demon Deacons while adding an assist. In the fall, Remy scored seven goals, the second most on the team. She also added one assist on the season. Caitlin Miskal scored first for the Region III team about 15 minutes into the game, but the Demon Deacons answered back less than 30 seconds later with a goal by Maggie Horne off a rebound from Elizabeth Remy. In the second half, Remy dribbled through defenders at the top of the box after a pass from Melanie Schneider, putting the Deacs ahead by one. The Demon Deacons will return to spring action as they play Virginia Tech on Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
