CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Soccer Buzz, the leading magazine exclusively dedicated collegiate women's soccer on the World Wide Web, announced its post-season awards list on Thursday with three members of the 1998 North Carolina NCAA runnerup team being named first-team All-Americas.

Soccer Buzz tapped senior forward Cindy Parlow, junior midfielder Laurie Schwoy and junior defender Lorrie Fair as first-team All-Amercias. All three of those players are currently in training camp with the U.S. National Soccer Team in Orlando, Fla. as the U.S. team prepares for the 1999 Women's World Cup which will be held in the United States this coming summer.

Second-team All-America selections from UNC were junior midfielder Rebekah McDowell and senior goalkeeper Siri Mullinix, while senior midfielder Tiffany Roberts was named a third-team All-America.

Carolina also had three players named to the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America Teams. Defender Danielle Borgman was named to the first team and midfielder Jena Kluegel was named to the third-team freshman All-America Team. Freshman forward Anne Remy was named to the honorable mention squad.

UNC women's soccer sports information director Dave Lohse also received three national awards from Soccer Buzz. Carolina's media guide was judged as the seventh best in the nation in 1998 and the cover design was voted as the best in the nation. Lohse was named #6 in the nation in terms of excellence in sports information.

Carolina also received a slew of Southeast Region Awards from Soccer Buzz. A summary of those awards follow here:

All-Southeast Region Second-Team: Tiffany Roberts, Sr., M.

All-Southeast Region Third-Team: Meredith Florance, So., F; Danielle Borgman, Fr., D.

All-Freshman Southeast Region: Danielle Borgman, Jena Kluegel, Anne Remy.

Excellence in Sports Information: #1 in the Region, Dave Lohse
